Taksim Galata Kulesi, also known as the Galata Tower, is a historical tower located in Istanbul, Turkey. The tower was completed in 1348 by the Genoese and was initially used as a watchtower to spot fires.
Today, the tower stands at 66.9 meters tall and offers panoramic views of Istanbul from its observation deck. The tower has been renovated and restored several times over the years and is now a popular tourist attraction in Istanbul.
Visitors can take an elevator or climb up the spiral stairs to reach the observation deck. The tower also houses a restaurant, cafe, and several souvenir shops.
In addition to its historical and cultural significance, the Galata Tower has also been used as a scientific observation point, as well as a radio and television transmitter.
